Creating a Property
First click the Menu > Portfolio > Properties > New
You’ll need to fill in the following details
- Name
- Property Category
- Property Type
- Property Code (Optional)
Click ‘Next’ and you’ll be prompted with a series of screen prompts to complete your property details. Be sure to answer and enter all details accurately as certain selections might lead to differing screen prompts.
Indicate whether this is the first property for the investment (this will typically be yes)
Enter in the basic property information – Keep in mind that this is for the investment – So for example if the property name is Your Property, typically the legal name is Your Property Holdings, LLC (example of legal entity name goes here)
You can opt to copy users from an existing project over to the new project. Please Note: Users are copied to this property with the same roles as they are assigned at the property being copied from. If you are unsure if the Property Manager will assign the same reporting personnel, we would advise against using this feature.
Next you’ll be asked to verify that your selections are accurate.
Lastly, you’ll have the option to leave the property open for editing if you wish to add additional details right now. Click ‘Continue’ to finish.
You will be brought to the property profile page, where you can fill out additional information. We recommend adding the address and a photo at a minimum. To add the address of the property, simply click the small pencil icon under the property name and a pop up window will appear. Click "Confirm Address" to have the system automatically pull the latitude and longitude.
To add a photo of the property, click "Photos" on the left side menu then you can either drag and drop or click "Upload a Photo" to browse your files.
Finally, you'll also want to geocode this property so that it can pull into maps correctly. To do this, you will navigate to Admin>System Set Up from the left hand menu, then select "Geocoder."
Next you will find the property that you created, and click the "Geocode" link. If successful, the globe icon should turn from gray to blue. You can also edit the address information by clicking the "Edit" button to the right.
